August 5, 1907: Tom Hall

The following comes from the Palestine Daily Herald (Palestine, Texas) dated August 6, 1907:


TOM HALL, NEGRO LYNCHED AT RUNGE

Special to the Herald.

Runge, Texas, Aug. 6.—Tom Hall, a negro, was lynched last night after being arrested on a charge of attempted assault on two young white women in this place.  Today several other negroes who live here have been ordered to leave the town.
