May 30, 1893: Isaac Lincoln

Join me today is learning about a lynching that occurred in South Carolina. We learn about the lynching through the pages of The Charlotte Observer (Charlotte, N. C.) dated June 2, 1893:

Another Negro Lynched in South Carolina.

COLUMBIA, S. C., June 1.—A special to the Columbia Register from Fort Madison, S. C., says that a negro named Isaac Lincoln was lynched there on May 30th for insulting a white woman. Lincoln is a blacksmith about fifty of age, and came from Ohio.

Thank you for joining me and as always, I hope I leave you with something to ponder.
